Description

The writer Pramod Kumar Chattopadhyay travels to the Klilash mountain of the Himalayas in Tibbet with an elderly person. The Mount Koilash is a religious site of Paramount importance to the Hindus and the Buddhists alike. It is famous as the home of the God Shiva, the greatest Yogi.

The author, with his companion travels on foot to Koilash. On his path he encounters the dangers of the Himalayans – snow, ice, hunger, thirst, diseases and dacoits are but the few to name. In the end he reaches his destination and returns with a new understanding of the spiritual world that eventually led him to further journeys among the Sadhus and Tantriks to learn about the Tantra way of Sadhana. That story is told in another book ‘Tantabhilashir Sadhusanga’ – in three parts.

The writer also is an artist and the book contains many pictures of the people and the places in the Himalayas as he saw them.

His descriptions are lucid and thorough, which is very enjoyable.

It is one of the best travel accounts I have read in Bangla.

Highly recommend, specially for those who enjoy spirituality with their travels.
